The Trustees of the Old Tridents Society are delighted to be hosting this year’s ‘Homecoming’ Annual Dinner at Trent College, on Saturday 19 September, bringing the OT community back together at the school in a truly landmark year. With the support and vision of the Trustees, this special occasion offers Old Tridents, parents, governors, staff (past and present) and friends, the opportunity to celebrate the shared history and continuing story of the school.
We are especially excited to announce that Myleene Klass MBE will be the special guest host for this very special occasion. A celebrated broadcaster, musician and Sunday Times bestselling author, Myleene has enjoyed a career spanning more than two decades across television, radio and live events. A classically trained pianist from the Royal Academy of Music and former member of the BRIT Award-winning pop group Hear’Say, she is now one of the UK’s most recognisable media personalities and a highly respected live event host. As well as hosting the evening, Myleene will also perform at the piano as part of the evening's entertainment making this a rare opportunity to enjoy both her presenting and musical talents, in such an intimate setting.
Her presence is particularly fitting in a year when the school celebrates 50 years since girls first joined the pupil community, alongside 160 years since foundation and 150 years of the Chapel built in memory of the founder, Francis Wright. We are also honoured to be welcoming the first girl to join the school Sixth Form in Michaelmas term 1975 and first housemistress of the girls boarding house as special guests, making this a celebration that connects past, present and future.
After three years hosted at prestigious external venues, including Chatsworth, House of Commons and the Tower of London, the dinner returns to Trent College itself as the only natural setting for an evening reflecting on the traditions, progress and people who have shaped its development across generations. The milestones being marked in 2026 recognise both heritage and change: the founding of the school in 1866, the building of the Chapel in 1876 as a lasting tribute to Francis Wright, and the important step forward in the academic year1975/76 when girls were first welcomed into the school community.
The 2026 Annual Dinner offers a wonderful opportunity to gather friends and contemporaries to celebrate shared experiences. Many Old Tridents choose this occasion to mark reunion years, reconnect with former classmates, teammates or house members, or celebrate personal milestones alongside others who share a connection to the school.
Tables provide the perfect setting to come together, reminisce and create new memories with fellow Old Tridents, parents, governors, former and current staff, and friends of the school.
A limited number of sponsorship packages are also available, offering OT led organisations and individuals the opportunity to be part of this significant year in the school’s history. Sponsors benefit from association with a highly engaged alumni audience, opportunities to host guests, and recognition on the evening itself by Myleene Klass MBE, as supporters of this landmark celebration.
This event is expected to sell out quickly. Tickets are now on sale and early booking is strongly encouraged to avoid disappointment.
We look forward to welcoming you back to Trent College for what promises to be a memorable and meaningful evening for the whole school community.
