Following instruction from the Headmaster Rev. Tucker in 1902, to create a 'Tridents' Club', the Old Tridents Society was founded in January 1903 by Housemasters Abraham Shuker and Francis Wortley 'with the object to further the interests of Trent College'. 

Following several successful decades of membership activity, including social events and fundraising, the Old Trident Society was registered as a charity in 1963 (charity no. 8100009):

To further the interests of Trent College by providing financial support to Trent College, arranging various activities for the members of the Society in order to further continuing interest in and support of Trent College.
