As summer approaches, so too does the annual Over-50s Tournament at Worplesdon Golf Club. The third event in the OTGS calendar, the Cyril Gray has quickly become a highlight for our community of seasoned golfers, particularly those who once battled it out in the Halford Hewitt and now embrace the chance to compete in a more relaxed, yet still competitive, setting.

Played in the traditional scratch matchplay foursomes format, each team is made up of three pairs, combining strategy, camaraderie, and no small amount of golfing prowess. The tournament’s home, Worplesdon Golf Club in Woking, offers a fittingly prestigious backdrop and is ranked #63 in the UK’s top golf courses.

Simon Turner, OTGS Cyril Gray Captain: "A classic heathland course, it is always a privilege to play."

This year, the OTGS side will start their event on the first tee at 08:20, taking on Bishop’s Stortford in what promises to be an exciting opening match. As ever, whether you're a former player, a keen follower of the game, or simply looking for a fine day out on a beautiful course, supporters are warmly encouraged to come along and follow the team in action.

A full match report to follow.
