Reunions

Thirty-five years after leaving Trent College, members of the Class of 1991 came together on Saturday 10 October 2026 for a special reunion, enjoying a relaxed day of reminiscing, reconnecting and catching up on the years since their school days.

The reunion was inspired by Lucy and Chris Brazendale, who wanted to bring old friends back together and create an opportunity for their year group to reconnect. Their idea brought 25 former pupils back to school for an enjoyable occasion, with some travelling considerable distances to be part of the day.

The flexible programme allowed everyone to enjoy the reunion at their own pace, beginning with welcome drinks before groups headed off on tours of the school. Led by our Sixth Form Student Ambassadors, the tours offered an opportunity to revisit familiar surroundings and see how much has changed over the years. There was also plenty of opportunity to share stories of school life with the students, providing a fascinating insight into Trent in the late 80s/early 90s.

Everyone then came together for lunch, where plenty of catching up took place.

Although the weather tried its best to dampen proceedings, it certainly didn't dampen the spirits of those attending.

A trip down memory lane

In the lead-up to the reunion, we delved into the school archives to uncover photographs and memories from the Class of 1991's time at Trent, with a selection of items on display at the reunion.

Some OTs also brought along their own photographs, prompting further memories and conversations as old faces and familiar moments were rediscovered. It was wonderful to see these personal snapshots of school life being shared and enjoyed by everyone.

Keeping the connections alive

A school reunion is about much more than returning to familiar buildings. It is about the friendships formed, the experiences shared and the connections that remain long after leaving the classroom.

It was wonderful to welcome the Class of 1991 back to Trent, and we are grateful to Lucy and Chris for getting the ball rolling and helping make the reunion happen.

Thank you to everyone who joined us. We hope you enjoyed being back as much as we enjoyed welcoming you home. Here's to keeping those connections alive, and hopefully seeing you again before another 35 years have passed!
