At the end of this term we will be saying goodbye to Trent's Head of Cricket Scott Boswell, who is moving on to an exciting new role with Lancashire County Cricket Club after 15 years leading cricket at Trent.

Since joining in 2011, Scott has been instrumental in fostering a love of the game, shaping a programme built on both enjoyment and ambition. From introducing umpiring and scoring courses across year groups to developing performance pathways, his focus has always been helping young people grow in confidence as well as ability. With strong links to the local county pathways, some pupils progressed into the professional game, but every student gained something meaningful from being part of Trent cricket.

A particularly important part of Scott’s contribution has been the development of girls’ cricket across Trent College and The Elms. Through his encouragement and commitment, opportunities expanded, participation grew and a genuine pathway was established, ensuring more pupils could experience and succeed in the game.

Old Tridents will recognise how many school memories connect back to cricket; midweek and Saturday fixtures, national and international tours, training sessions and the many conversations that built character as much as technique, and inspired so many futures. Scott has also been the driving force behind the annual OT XI vs Trent XI fixture and BBQ, a tradition that brings cricket lovers, players and spectators, together and one we very much hope will continue long after he has left.

To celebrate his contribution and wish him well, Scott would love to see former pupils, colleagues and friends for an informal catch-up:
