Congratulations to OT Graham Griffiths (class of '70) on receiving the England Hockey Lifetime Achievement Award, recognising his incredible contribution to hockey which spans more than 5 decades!

Particular recognition is made for Graham's role as manager of Beeston Hockey Club's 1st Team, a role he held for 40 years, as well as the role of general manager of Highfields Sports Club (now the Nottingham Hockey Centre).

Beeston Hockey Club have reported that Griff, as he is affectionately known at the club, 'took the club from the lowest echelons of the Nottinghamshire leagues, to beinga  formiddable force within Europe, notably defeating Amsterdam  H&BC when the Men's 1st Team were at their peak in the Euro Hockey League.'

Graham went on to serve as Chairman of Beeston Hockey Club for almost ten years, from 2015 to 2024.  Many OTs, staff and pupils at Trent College will have experienced, and continue to experience, the passion that he has shown for the sport, and Beeston Hockey Club.

We share our congratulations and wish Graham all the very best.
