Former Head of Biology (1973-2004) David Pinney has been leading tours of the Trent College Arboretum for over 40 years.
With the first trees planted over 150 years ago, it is among the best in the East Midlands and one of the best school arboretums nationally. Renowned for its attractive spinneys set around the 45 acre school campus, there is even an 'OT Spinney' named in honour of Old Tridents.
David gives his time voluntarily and enthusiastically to the Arboretum and is delighted to share it with people who will enjoy seeing the several hundreds of trees, belonging to around 200 species, including some very rare varieties.
The content of the tour is aimed at an adult audience however interested children are welcome.
We will go ahead with the tour whatever the weather – so please come prepared!
Donations go towards classroom resources, tree planting and care in the grounds of
Nyacaba Primary School and Gowan Mt. View Academy, the two Kenyan schools that Trent College is very proud
to have been raising funds for, for more than 20 years..
